N°44: Let It Die...

"Let It Die" and "The Reminder" are actually played in loop on my computer. Feist is definitively my favorite artist of this past year. And "Intuition" one of my fav song from her.

"Let It Die" was a present from a friend of mine, and I bought "The reminder" last summer, once back from USA. Didn't regret it, her last album is as good if not better than the previous one. What a talented artist ! I started something this morning, and yeah, I let textures drive the picture its own way. It's dirty, but hey... I like it like that. No need to tell you what was the soundtrack, I guess. ;)

On a more personal side, I had the visit of a bunch of friends this WE and aside the fact it was a pleasure and the great opportunity to take a breack from work [and that was necessary], we planed a couple of events/parties at my modest but comfy house for the near future. A few days trip/art retreat in Paris is also planed for end of November. Opportunity to see some friends and give to "la ville-lumière" a chance...
Don't think one single minute to find me in the "Louvres" Museum, surrounded by a bunch of Japanese tourists, looking for the "Mona Lisa" with "The Da Vinci Code" book in my hands, understood ? ;)
Saw "Heat" again yesterday, and again, I cried during the whole movie... I'm such a sensitive, delicate man, sob. :p
Cheers,
Julien.

N°43: In The Mood For Halloween

Today is a day for rest, chill, relax... Doesn't mean no art, that said. Just feel in the mood for some Vampire, nothing really serious. Unfortunatly, we don't celebrate Halloween here in France, but here my contribution anyway...

On a more anecdotic side, I just found [I hope] a way to make my radio-blog-thing more easy to play, songs should load faster. If you have time to loose, tell me if that work fine for you, thanks. ;)
Take care, Folks.

N°42: Loner

Ho, et puis merde !
I have to drop something for keep that blog alive !
A quick study [haha, quick !], with the worst colors I can work with. Don't know why, need a different approach. A character for a four pages comic-book I should do in the following month. Maybe more in the future ?

It looks like a Western, it tastes like a Western... But trust me, that will be not a Western.
Take care,
J.

N°41: [Mad-Season: Fall]

N°40: Without Gravity.

Hi, folks !
Sorry for the late update, things are too busy here for I manage some time for my blog. That said, it's time for show some pictures, right ? ;)

I will start with a panel for a mixed-média sequential I started last week. I rejected this panel yesterday, so that's why I can show it to you. It's not so much a NDA thing, but also a question of pride... Proving to myself that I can go in this direction, that kind of stuff. And the thing is to that point, I prefer cut down the useless panels if I consider they are more a "breack" for the overall story. Things are not bad in this case: I found here the method and main tones for the two following pages.

Some photography treatment between digital shot and traditional alterations mixed together. For the pleasure, on my free time... There's also a potential story behind that shot... Another one ? Argl ! The old man was right: "Patience is a Virtue".

[Digital photography, burned negatives, Photoshop]

And here's Serpico latest WIP. Just need to shot that African bird skull sleeping on my desk right now [a "present" from my uncle who worked in Zoos- Merci, Tonton Loïc !] and including it in the bubble. Maybe some minor corrections here and there ? But I think it's almost done.

[Collage, acrylic, soluble coffee, photography, photoshop]

Et voilà !
From France With Love !
Julien.
